Cool! Mail! At least I thought it was cool to get mail..until DS Stewart knew my name. Now every time I get mail I have to do 10 push-ups for every piece that I get! Quit sending me mail!!!! Just kidding. Everyone knows it is great to get letters. We got to go off-post over the weekend. They have a few clubs here in South Carolina that are way cool to go to. She took a ride on a motorcycle with one of our "new" friends and burned the crap out of her leg on the tailpipe. Lovely...how are we gonna explain this to the DS? We ended up getting called to DS Stewart's office, too. Mel told him that she sat on her curling iron. Yeah, right! LOL! Saturday we went over to the shoppette to get a bite to eat. I didn't know that Lean Pockets could be so good! LOL! Beats having to stand in line for chow all the time and since we have more freedom on the weekends now, why not? Here's me sitting at the shoppette. My hair was pretty short, huh? I have always had long hair and bangs, but it's too much of a hassle to deal with during training.
Mel ended up having to have her wisdom teeth pulled this week, so she is doped up on meds. She got to stay in the barracks and I got to stay with her since she had to have a buddy. I have one wisdom tooth that has come through, but it doesn't give me any problems. I wrote a few letters home, and slept for a while. It was a nice break away from everyone. Anyway, I had KP again, and volunteered to do pots and pans. I think that is the most fun. LOL! We all just joke around and crack up. It makes the day go by faster, too. WooHoo! We get to go off-post this weekend and stay off post! Now, if only we can keep ourselves and everything around us squared away. Anything can happen between now and then for our passes to be revoked. I had CQ tonight. I rarely get CQ. We are almost finished with school. Everyone has been talking about FTX and Superbowl. I hope I can remember everything in my little 'smart' book that we had to carry around during Basic Training. We will be tested over it again.
Oh my gosh!! This morning was absolute hell!!! Our company had a surprise urinalysis. I had to wait two whole hours to pee!!! Of course, I had just drank an entire canteen of water. Ugh! What torture! I bet they were trying to find out if anyone who has been going off-post was playing around with something they weren't supposed to. I guess there are just some people who are stupid. Back at my unit I was picked at random one weekend for a UA. Bummer because when you don't know ya have to do a urinalysis, you have already gone to the latrine. LOL! Oh...this was agonizing, but I am sure glad it is over!
We took our final PT test and I passed! My run time was 16:37. I could have done better on my sit-ups and push-ups though. I was still bummed about failing that test. Now I will not qualify to win any awards at graduation. You have to be a 1st time go on all exams and maintain an average of 98%. Failing that one test put my average at 95% and it also took away a bit of my motivation. I must be accident prone as well because I pulled the tendons in my right knee and ended up having to go to TMC in order to get a prescription for pain. The doctor put me on profile for a week because of this visit. Henriquez is also on profile. She has a stress fracture in her left hip and it worsened after the PT test, so she is on crutches. Since we are both on profile, we have become buddies and I help her out to and from chow, school, etc. Yep, we're both broken! We call each other 'Profile'. At least we both passed our PT tests before we hurt ourselves. LOL! I am so happy that I won't be on profile come the weekend. If you are on profile, you have to stay at the company and you do not get to leave for the weekend.
Well, today was our last day of school and we had our TACCS (Tactical Army Combat Computer System) training. These computers will be our personnel information management system and can store lots of data. I will be working in the S1 office, so I am sure I will be using these quite a bit. Afterwards, we spent all day logging the serial numbers down and getting them ready for storage. They fit perfectly in a box and I bet they weigh 100lbs or so. I can't believe that we are finished with school and finished a week early. Hmm...what does that mean? I bet we end up with detail...detail...and more detail. LOL! Training has gone by so fast.
School is over! We had our class party in the dayroom and we got to rent a couple of movies and order pizza. We played pool and watched movies. It was such a blast just hanging out with everyone. All of us just seem to get along quite well. I will miss quite a few people that I have gotten to know. We got our off-post passes...thank you Lord! That means we get to go off-post for the weekend. WooHoo!
Well, I guess I spoke (typed) too soon. We did it this time! Drat! We had our passes taken...again!!!! That figures! A whole lot of us were late to formation and our chow schedule got really messed up. Formation was called at 0810 and we didn't arrive until 0840. We all got dropped. You would think that this late in the game, our brains would be functioning right. What can happen now? Having your off-post passes revoked is probably the worst that can happen since we will now have to stay at the company. I wanna cry!!! Well, I guess it is movies and pool in the game-room...again. ![]()
